ART SHOW The rescheduled date is : Wednesday August 19 (but will NOT include the "New" 2020-2021 Kindergarteners, they will be included in the spring show on March 18th, 2021)

YEARBOOK UPDATE: As we all adapt to change, one thing that remains constant is the yearbook tradition of documenting the history of our students and our school year. We are pleased to announce that our yearbook adviser and staff are working hard to complete the yearbook and make sure it is printed. Since copies are limited and school schedules continue to change, we ask that you please order your yearbook online as soon as possible. Jostens offers a payment plan at checkout for your purchase if you would like to use that option www.jostensyearbooks.com. Yearbooks are $30 and will arrive in May!

Good afternoon kindergarten and first grade parents. This is Betsy Green, principal of Blackburn Elementary School. I am excited to announce that we are now able to offer chrome book check out to our kindergarten and first grade students. Kinder and 1st students will continue to work on their paper packets but can use a chrome book for supplemental instruction, such as Reading Horizons software. After spring break, 1st grade will have the option to do online work or paper packets. If you would like to check out a chrome book for your kindergarten or first grade student, please come by the school during one of the following dates and times: Wednesday, April 1 between 2:00 and 4:00 pm Thursday, April 2 between 10 am and 12:00 pm Or Friday, April 3 between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm You must agree to the terms and conditions in order to check out a chromebook. Chromebooks will be set out on a table right in front of the front doors of the school with chargers. Paperwork will be filled out except for your child’s name and your signature. You will get a CB and charger, sign paperwork, then drop the paperwork in the box on the table. Mr. Froggatt and I will be nearby to make sure you know exactly what to do. Parents! The BES BOOSTERTHON FUN RUN is just 2 WEEKS AWAY! The BES FUN RUN will help our school AND teach our students character. This year, we’re raising funds to Enhance General Programs at BES! Last year we raised money for the following: IXL - Math and ELA - a website that allows true differentiation for students in math and ELA skills based on what they already know and the skills they need to acquire. Reflex Math - a math game based website that helps students with their math fact fluency. Data shows that this is helping our students learn their math facts Individual white boards, erasers, and markers for all students to aid in the teaching of our new phonics program Headphones for Chrome Books Specialized furniture for some of our special education classrooms Prizes for reading goals and the summer slide reading program.
