Lumpkin County School System is excited to announce that FREE GA Pre-K Registration for the 2026–2027 school year is open February 23 – March 13, 2026!

✔️ Follows the elementary school calendar & daily start/end times
✔️ Bus transportation provided by elementary attendance zones
✔️ Served by the School Nutrition Program
✔️ Current sites: Cottrell Elementary & Long Branch Elementary
✔️ Only 20 spots per site
🗓️ Registration is open for the lottery through March 13, 2026.
If more than 20 students apply per site, a lottery will be held. Students not selected will be placed on a waitlist.
👧🧒 Your child must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026 to apply.

2nd Graders – It’s Time for R³: Reading Rally!
On Thursday, November 13, 2025, our 2nd graders will join us at Lumpkin County High School for a fun-filled literacy event! Students will meet author Eric Litwin, enjoy interactive reading activities, and each child will receive a Pete the Cat book to take home.
Back at their elementary schools, all students in PK–5th grade will participate in Drop Everything and Read, celebrating literacy and taking time to enjoy books together.
A big thank-you to the Dahlonega Sunrise & Noon Rotary Clubs and Lumpkin County Schools for making these events possible!

John Megel Chevrolet will have several brand new cars at BES on October 24th, the day of the Fun Run event, for adults to test drive. John Megel will be donating $25 for each test drive, up to a maximum of $500, to BES. The test drive event will be located on the blacktop behind the lunchroom.
Our Student Council is collecting cans to help families in our community. Please help us reach our collection goal of 500 cans of green beans! We love that our students have the desire to serve!
