Friday was Community Helpers Day for our Kindergarten! Thank you for all our hard-working Community Helpers for making this a memorable day for our students!

There are raffle tickets still available! Come to the front office to get yours for a chance to win 3 Round-Trip Tickets with Southwest! The drawing will take place tomorrow, November 15th.

Friday will be purple and gold day to celebrate all of our students and the high school team that will be in playoffs this weekend.

We are blessed once again this year to be named Best School by the Dahlonega Nugget reader's poll. Thank you to everyone that voted for us. We strive everyday to be a warm, inviting place for students to learn. GO CHIEFS!!

BES was recently named to the Georgia Department of Education's Math Leaders List for 2024. A total of 624 K-12 schools across the state of Georgia received this award. To be eligible students must improve by15% or higher in the categories of proficient and distinguished as compared to the 2022-23 Georgia Milestones scores. Last year's 5th graders at BES had a 16.55% growth. We are very proud of this accomplishment and our amazing teachers that work hard everyday to help our students become proficient in math.

Congratulations to Brittani Abercrombie and Angela Gonyo for being chosen as the BES Extra Mile employees for October 2024. This award goes to one certified and one classified employee each month that do way more than their job description entails to support students and staff. Congrats to these two incredible employees.

Attention to all 5th Grade Parents! Yearbook Ads are due November 15, 2024!

Reminder: John Megel Chevrolet will have several brand new cars at BES on October 25, the day of the Fun Run event, for adults to test drive. John Megel will be donating $25 for each test drive, up to a maximum of $500, to BES. The test drive event will be located on the blacktop behind the lunchroom.

We will be participating with Family Connections/Thankful Hearts Food Drive again this year. Last year our school did such a great job with donating food for our families in Lumpkin County. We will collect items from 10/21 - 11/7.

Blackburn Elementary School would like to invite you to come out to our Fun Run event on Friday, October 25, and while you are here, take a test drive in one of the new vehicles John Megel Chevrolet has on our campus.
