These students were invited to the Lexile Growth Party at BES because they had the highest growth in their Lexile level for their class. We are so proud of these students.

Our Chiefs for Change club has been hard at work this holiday season. They were able to collect, deliver, and donate 376 lbs of food to the community helping places Spirit of Christmas food drive initiative. They also donated, organized, personalized, and stuffed 40 stocking for the families connections families here at Blackburn. These small but grand acts have a ripple effect much larger than they can know. This club has over 130 students from k through 5th grade and focuses on service and kindness. Their mission is to try and be the good in the world. Way to go kiddos!

Time is almost up before our Blackburn Fun Run on 10/28/2022! We have one FINAL NIGHTLY CHALLENGE! PIZZA PARTY CHALLENGE!!! The class (per grade level) with the most new pledges TONIGHT will get A PIZZA PARTY on FRIDAY! Go out and get your NEW PLEDGES!!! Monday night at the School Board meeting, BES’s own Daphney Faulkner was recognized as Blackburn’s Teacher of the Year for the 2023-2024 school year. Coach Faulkner wears many hats at BES in addition to teaching PE and Early Interventions. She also spearheads our Boosterthon efforts and helps run parent drop-off and pick-up. Daphney has an amazing devotion to our students’ needs and is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that our school is the awesome learning place that it is. Thanks to Coach Faulkner for all that you do!

Our Book Museum was well attended in September. All students and parents that attended got entered into a drawing for $25 to spend at the Book Fair. We drew two names and the winners were Caylee Adkins and Damon Pumphrey. Congrats to these two students.

Blackburn gives a big shout out to Tiffany Duffee, Jessica Diaz, and Sarah O'Brien for helping to plan and execute the Fall Festival. We also want to thank all of our staff for volunteering their time to work the different events. It was truly a great night for our school community to have fun together.
