Attention Sophomores! Tonight administration and counselors will host a Parent Information Night at 6:00 PM in the Auditorium.

Lumpkin County High School’s Junior ROTC program would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Beri Orlando and everyone at Walmart store 2513 for their donation to our program! Mrs. Orlando and her crew donated $500 to the JROTC program to assist in the continuing effort to improve our community. The JROTC Cadets volunteer for many after school and weekend community events and Walmart’s donation will help offset costs associated with participating in
these events. Your support encourages these young Cadets to continue working and helping within their community and demonstrates the generosity of the Lumpkin County residents!

We would like to invite you to the LC Fall Chorus Concert tonight at 6:30 in auditorium.

Hats off to LCHS alumni Griffin Sorensen and Mark Hawk for taking the time to show current LCHS Automotive students the possible careers awaiting them after graduation with Aim Transportation Solutions!

Today the Lumpkin County Kiwanis chapter honored Mr. Greg Murray and his FFA organization with $500.00. We were proud to host this incredible group of professionals in our building and very thankful for their generosity in supporting an organization that impacts hundreds of kids! Thank you Kiwanis!

Today teachers collaborated across several disciplines to create an incredible learning exercise regarding how to respond to a mass casualty event. Our students walked away from this learning exercise with tremendous respect for the men and women who work to take care of the multitudes in natural disasters, war, and other crisis events every day.

Mrs. Grindle's Personal Fitness Class is incredibly popular at LCHS. This past week students hiked to Camp Glisson and worked on their archery skills. #GoIndians!

Congratulations to Dr. Gibbs for getting a grant that covered a student field trip to Barnes and Noble where students were able to help choose books for their classroom! Improving literacy is going to be a bit easier now that students can host classroom level "book clubs" reading and analyzing text from novels they helped choose.

The 2022 One Act competition, and theatre in general, is a collaborative process between the directors, designers, and performers. In this episode, the LCHS Podcast Tribe Crew takes you backstage to get a more in-depth understanding of how the actors, along with directors Talmadge “Mr. T” Smith and Keelie Collins, prepare for the show and make this year’s production of Pippin even more magical.

Attention Seniors!

LCHS Healthcare Science students enjoyed a field trip to the UNG simulator lab today! Students learned how technology is used to create authentic hospital scenarios for learning.

Coach Howell’s Forensics class completed a Latent fingerprint lab last week. Students learned humans leave behind fingerprints almost every time they touch something even if they can’t see them. Latent prints are made by residue present on finger ridges. Students practiced dusting for prints by coating them with powder and “lifting“ them from the object to compare to other prints.

Attention Students! Today is the Underclassman Picture Make-Up Day!

Ms. Walters and Mrs. Nicholas had their students conduct Argument Driven Inquiry in their physical science class. Students were asked to test, "How can you determine the strength of an acid or a base using a cabbage indicator?" When they were done, they created their white board presentations and completed a gallery walk.

Congratulations to this week's Player of the Week, Walker Scott! Walker plays Tight End and led a powerful rushing attack that helped keep Gilmer County at bay during last Friday night's game. In addition, he had 1 catch for 5 yards! Congratulations Walker Scott!

Mrs. Barron's British Literature classes enjoyed reading and creating character analyses from the Cantebury Tales last week.
