We are pleased to announce that Blackburn Elementary School has partnered with John Megel Chevrolet through the Chevy Back to School program! This program will provide our school with a sponsorship check and a fundraising opportunity. On October 25, the day of our BES Fun Run event, John Megel Chevrolet will be at the school giving test drive opportunities to adults attending the Fun Run with their students.
In 2024, the Chevy Back to School Test Drive Fundraising Opportunity is a program by which John Megel Chevrolet will provide $25 on behalf of every adult that comes to BES on October 25 and takes a test drive in any one of the new Chevrolet vehicles on campus, up to a maximum of $500.
We need your help to reach this goal! Whether or not you’re in the market for a new vehicle, take the time while you are already at the school to take a test drive to support BES through the Chevy Back to School program. At the program’s end, John Megel Chevrolet will provide BES with a check for the total number of validated test drives.

Chief for a Night
Family Event
Please join us at BES for the Chief for a Night Family Event on Thursday, October 10 from 6pm - 7:30pm. You will walk through your child’s(children’s) day and experience all the learning opportunities they have each day. Your child(children) have been working hard to show you all they are learning, what they excel with, and what they need to work harder to master. Each family will be given a schedule to follow. If you have multiple children, go to all the homerooms when you reach that part of the schedule. We look forward to seeing all of you next Thursday night.

Save the Date! Friday, November 1st will be a virtual learning day for our students. Teachers will hold office hours in the morning and the afternoon, but students will be at home completing their assignments on 11/1/24. This will allow our teachers and students to practice Virtual Learning Days for any possible inclement weather days we may have in the winter. It will also allow our teachers to have a professional learning day to stay up-to-date on best teaching practices. Mark your calendars now! #TR1BE

Have you ever wondered about how the process works for a school to be qualified as a Title One school? Who comes up with the Parent-Student-School Compact and what is the revision process? How do I stay engaged as a parent at BES and have my voice heard? The answers to these questions, and more, are available at our Title One parent meeting. Come and join us at 8:00AM this Thursday!
