Cadets from Lumpkin County High School’s Junior ROTC program fulfilled their dreams of participating in helicopter flights. Two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters of the Georgia National Guard’s, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion (Air Assault), 106th Aviation Regiment, conducted orientation flights in the Winder, Georgia local area. Emotions varied as the altitude changed and we are so proud of our Cadets for overcoming their fear of heights and building their confidence. These flights provided a unique experience for Cadets to witness what the men and women do every day to fly these helicopters, and what a great opportunity they have to do the same. Additionally, it exposed the Cadets to all the job opportunities and different careers in the aviation field. A big THANK YOU to the National Guard for making this dream come true!
