CONGRATULATIONS to the LYL Class of 2023 for working hard to gain leadership skills while learning more about their community! Many thanks to the Chamber, Development Authority, and UNG for organizing their experiences and making this group of students more prepared for their future endeavors!

Last Friday, Win Crannell, a retired UNG professor and local artist, visited our art classes at LCHS to talk about his career. He led students through a workshop and allowed them a chance to recreate the trees of which is his signature subject. Thank you, Mr. Crannell!

In a joint effort the Environmental Awareness club and Key club partnered with the Dahlonega Women’s Club on Earth Day. Club members assisted at multiple locations in Lumpkin County. Contact Dr. Cas Alldred (EAC) or Ms. Erin Endicott (Key Club) for more information about these service organizations.

Ms. Westafer's AP Biology class is investigating elephants and how they impact/support their environment. Part of their research included elephant dung dissection which allowed for the investigation of consumed plant seeds. In just over a month, our seniors will be walking across the stage, accepting their high school diplomas, and continuing on their life’s journey! For many years now, our community has made the Senior Letter Project a special memory for all of our graduates, and we are asking for your help once again! To date, we have less than 300 letters. With over 200 graduates, our goal is to make sure each senior has at least 10 personal notes of congratulations and encouragement to open and read on the morning of their high school graduation day.
Please help us spread the word and encourage anyone who may know these graduating seniors to write a letter or create an e-card! We’ve updated our list of seniors as of this week, so be sure to check out the most updated version (attached) when you are sharing this out. Thank you so much for helping us to continue this tradition!
