Cadets from Lumpkin County, White County, and Dawson County recently took learning to new heights during an exciting field trip to Fort Benning, Georgia, home of the U.S. Army’s legendary Airborne School.

During the visit, Cadets got a firsthand look at the training that prepares paratroopers for airborne operations. One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to jump from the famous 30-foot tower, a key training tool used by the Army to help Soldiers build confidence and practice parachute landing techniques.

After learning about the history of airborne operations and the discipline required to earn airborne wings, the group suited up with safety harnesses and stepped up to the tower. One by one, they made the jump—facing their fears, trusting their training, and cheering each other on along the way.

The experience gave students a unique perspective on the dedication, teamwork, and courage that members of the U.S. Military demonstrate every day. It was not only an exciting adventure but also an educational opportunity to see leadership and perseverance in action!
